@Oabnormal done on bristol with charcoal. Finished drawing 16”x24”. Had a lot of fun giving a very 2D character a “realistic” 3D feeling. I will definitely be doing more of these. Suggestions welcome.

Inks are done and I realize that I have crap skills inking. Thinking about maybe outlining and adding color sorta like a painting to define edges, emphasize areas and all that. Seems like I might be more comfortable and it would feel more natural. I’m open to suggestions.

Last year I tried to draw 90 sketches in 90 days. I didn’t quite make it 2 months which is pretty lame. I was inspired but I worked too slow to keep it going day to day. Draw, ink, scan, cleanup, color, texturize and post… For some reason I wanted to do all of that when in reality, all I needed to do was grab a pen, draw, scan and post.

Whatever, I’m still inspired and finally found a few hours to draw. So Krishna posted a mission to draw 18 expressions and I’ve been re-tooling my comic so it seemed like a good idea. So here it is, me trying to draw again.

Day 55: So I’m not so good with the daily posts right now cause there is so much going on. But I managed to squeeze in some time to do a little charcoal work. Put some finishing touches on it this morning. It’s about 16Wx24H on bristol.

Day 54: Final beta version of the poster. Still need to finalize the text and there are a few tweaks I’d like to make to the highlights and shadows. Also, not real happy with the left hand as it doesn’t really have a purpose. The GF suggested maybe a fire extinguisher so we’ll play with that a bit.

I volunteered myself to help do the posters and tickets for the upcoming Firemen’s Ball here in Milford, NH. So I looked at a bunch of “old school” posters and found one I really liked.
