Day 55: So I’m not so good with the daily posts right now cause there is so much going on. But I managed to squeeze in some time to do a little charcoal work. Put some finishing touches on it this morning. It’s about 16Wx24H on bristol.

Day 54: Final beta version of the poster. Still need to finalize the text and there are a few tweaks I’d like to make to the highlights and shadows. Also, not real happy with the left hand as it doesn’t really have a purpose. The GF suggested maybe a fire extinguisher so we’ll play with that a bit.

Next, I added some text, started blocking in colors and incorporated the textures.

First step was to draw the image. Bristol with red pencil scanned and converted to grayscale.

I volunteered myself to help do the posters and tickets for the upcoming Firemen’s Ball here in Milford, NH. So I looked at a bunch of “old school” posters and found one I really liked. So I redid the whole thing adding some modern flavor here and there. But first, the highlight of the inspiration that the Ball Committee wanted to pursue.

Day 53: The girl wanted something a little more personal as a Christmas card and since neither of us is photogenic, I drew us. Aww, cute.

Day 52: Not real happy where this is headed but whatever. Version two will be better.

Day 51: I’ve still got zombies on the brain. Here are some pencils for something I might finish later.
